The Champions of the Murray 2019 Final was held on Saturday 25th May at the Cobram Barooga Golf Club. Proudly sponsored by Aristocrat, 48 finalists from the qualifying Partner Clubs were keen to play their best to take out this year’s title!
Our golfers were welcomed by the Golf on the Murray Committee at a delicious breakfast with each player receiving a GOTM Goodie Bag including a sleeve of Srixon golf balls.
While it was a cloudy start to the day, it wasn’t long before the sun came out and our players were keen to hit off as the 4BBB Stableford event on the Lakes Course began!
The evening festivities began with a cocktail party and canapés from 6:30pm. Our golfers had the chance to mingle and discuss their golf technique (or tales of woe) for the day – although everyone was asked to keep their scores a secret!
Delicious main meals were served, followed by official presentations. The Chairman, Greg Roberts, highlighted the achievements of Golf on the Murray and the importance of working together to promote our region. He pointed out that the Murray is currently the No.1 destination in Australia for Golf Tourism, before announcing the winners for the day.
It was a clean sweep for the home club this year with Cobram Barooga taking out the prize for the Men’s & Ladies Champions of the Murray!
